Striker admits to pre-match Wembley vision
Peterborough United hero Harrison Burrows has revealed he visualised lifting the EFL Trophy at Wembley in the minutes before kick-off.
The striker's second-half strike proved to be the difference as the Posh beat Wycombe Wanderers 1-0 at the national stadium on Saturday, securing a first major trophy in the club's history.
"Before the game, I had a vision of getting my hands on that trophy," said Burrows. "I was just so determined to do it for the club and the fans."
It was a fairytale moment for the 24-year-old, who grew up in Peterborough and has been with the Posh since he was a teenager.
"I've been at this club since I was a kid, so to lead the team out at Wembley and lift the trophy was a dream come true," he added.
Burrows' goal came in the 61st minute, when he pounced on a loose ball in the Wycombe area and fired home from close range.
It was a superb strike from the striker, who has now scored 10 goals in all competitions for the Posh this season.
Burrows' goal sparked wild celebrations among the Peterborough fans, who had packed out Wembley in support of their team.
The victory was a huge moment for the Posh, who are now looking to build on their success and push for promotion to the Championship next season.
