AS Monaco Signs Adi Hütter As New Coach
Hütter Joins Struggling Ligue 1 Club
New Coach Takes Over With Six Matches Remaining
AS Monaco have announced the appointment of Adi Hütter as their new head coach. The German manager joins the Ligue 1 club on a three-year contract, replacing Niko Kovac, who was sacked last week.
Hütter has been out of work since leaving Eintracht Frankfurt at the end of last season. He led the Bundesliga club to Europa League glory in 2018 and also won the German Cup in 2019.
Monaco are currently 19th in Ligue 1, just three points off the bottom of the table. They have lost their last four games and have not won since February. Hütter's first game in charge will be against Reims on 10 April.
Speaking at his unveiling, Hütter said: "I am very happy to be here. AS Monaco is a great club with a lot of history. I am looking forward to working with the players and staff to help the club achieve its goals."
Monaco sporting director Paul Mitchell added: "Adi Hütter is a very experienced coach who has a proven track record of success. We are confident that he can help us turn things around and achieve our objectives."
